House Speaker Emerita Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) downplayed the pro-illegal immigration riots in Los Angeles, saying, “Whether you see a burned car, a broken window, whatever it is. It may be the exuberance of the moment.” Pelosi made her excuse for the violence in the context that it may also be anarchists at work. The 85-year-old Pelosi, who has represented San Francisco in Congress since 1987 and has been Speaker twice, addressed reporters at a House press conference on Tuesday.
