As the Hill reported, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent testified before the House Ways and Means Committee regarding the Treasury Department’s priorities. The hearing followed President Trump announcing a new deal with China that addressed several issues, including magnets, rare earth metals, tariffs, and Chinese students studying in America. The hearing also followed a court victory for Trump that allowed his tariffs to remain in effect for now. During the hearing, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) interrogated Bessent regarding the Trump Administration’s handling of the economy. In the process, she decided to play fast and loose with a fundamental economic fact….
