The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a “Statement of Interest” in a Wyoming legal case that will have national repercussions. A “Statement of Interest” is an “amicus filings that are filed in federal and state trial courts across the country. Filing such briefs has become a key litigation strategy for federal civil rights enforcement.” The DOJ filed the Statement of Interest in the lawsuit Equality State Policy Center v.
