The Florida Congressman made the remarks during an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow when he was asked about his recent visit to the Everglades detention center, which has been dubbed as “Alligator Alcatraz.” He explained: When I went in and we were standing at that door looking at the cages, looking at the hundreds of men in there, I saw myself in those cages.
