Credit: U.S. Senate Photographic Studio Minnesota Democratic Senator Tina Smith has been admitted to a hospital after falling ill today and will not be able to help Democrats try to block tonight’s recession package vote. As Politico reported , Smith’s office released a statement saying the senator is expected to stay overnight for observation, assuming it does not take a turn for the worse. She also hopes to be back in the near future. No details were given regarding Smith’s illness. Here is the statement: “While at work at the Capitol today, Sen. Smith started to not feel well.
