Credit: U.S. Senate Photographic Studio Minnesota Democratic Senator Tina Smith has been admitted to a hospital after falling ill today and will not be able to help Democrats try to block tonight’s recession package vote. As Politico reported , Smith’s office released a statement saying the senator is expected to stay overnight for observation, assuming it does not take a turn for the worse.
