New York City officials are scheduled to hold a press conference at approximately 10 pm ET to provide updates on the deadly shooting in Midtown, Manhattan, which left five, including an off-duty cop, dead. UPDATE: The press conference began at approximately 10:30 pm ET. The shooter casually strolled into the 44-story skyscraper at 345 Park Avenue, wearing a bulletproof vest and armed with a semiautomatic rifle, and opened fire on the police officer before making his way up to the 33rd floor, where he was found dead by suicide. New York City Mayor Eric Adams provided an update from the scene shortly after 8 pm ET. WATCH: I’m here at the scene of 51st and Park Avenue.
