U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 214 illegal aliens in the Houston area over the past six months, all charged or convicted of sex offenses involving minors. This number surpasses arrests made by the Houston field office for similar offenses throughout the entire 2024 fiscal year. The surge in arrests is attributed to a whole-of-government approach led by the Trump administration, involving multiagency targeting teams with federal, state, and local law enforcement, including the FBI, ATF, DEA, and U.S. Marshals Service.
