The suspect in the murders is pro-Palestinian activist Elias Rodriguez, 30, from Chicago. The soon-to-be-engaged couple, Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Milgram, 26, were killed as they left an American Jewish Committee event at the Capital Jewish Museum. Following the shootings, Rodriguez was heard shouting, “Free, free Palestine.” He was previously charged with the murder of foreign officials and additional crimes.
