As CBS reported, Senator Joni Ernst (RINO-IA) will not be seeking reelection to the Senate next year. An official announcement is scheduled for Thursday. Ernst has served in the Senate since 2015. A source told CBS that Ernst had told people close to her that she intends to serve only two terms and will enter the private sector. This news will come as a disappointment to the White House, as President Trump had urged Ernst to run again for the Senate.
