Schill, President of Northwestern University, resigned following repeated clashes with President Trump’s agenda. In July, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Schill announced university plans to cut 425 positions following the Trump administration’s announcement that it was freezing $790 million earmarked for the school. The school, located in the liberal suburban Chicago enclave of Evanston, Illinois, has also come under fire for its concessions to radical Hamas supporters and for anti-semitic activity on its campus. Last year, Mr. Schill testified before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where his handling of antisemitism during campus protests over the war in Gaza was questioned.
