President Trump will deliver remarks this morning to the White House Religious Liberty Commission at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, where he will announce a new prayer initiative in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary next July. The President previously signed the ‘Establishment of the Religious Liberty Commission’ executive order to “enforce the historic and robust protections for religious liberty enshrined in Federal law.” This order created a 14-member commission to “advise the White House Faith Office and the Domestic Policy Council on religious liberty policies of the United States.” The initiative Trump will announce today is meant to revive the founding principle that “we are one nation under God,” ahead of our semiquincentennial celebration, White House Spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said.
