Trump) president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko released 52 prisoners of various nationalities yesterday (11), after an appeal from U.S. President Donald Trump. The freed men and women headed to Lithuania with the US delegation that negotiated their release. Reuters reported: “Trump had called on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, to release detainees whom the U.S. leader has described as ‘hostages’.
