A federal appeals on Monday rejected President Trump’s bid to fire embattled Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. The DC Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision said Lisa Cook can remain a Federal Reserve Governor, allowing her to vote during Tuesday’s interest rate meeting at the Fed. The three judge panel included: Majority: Childs (Biden), Garcia (Biden) Dissent: Katsas (Trump). President Trump is expected to immediately appeal the ruling to the US Supreme Court. President Trump last Wednesday appealed a federal judge’s injunction blocking his attempt to fire Lisa Cook amid mortgage fraud allegations. Lisa Cook filed a lawsuit against President Trump, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell after Trump fired her last month.
