President Trump revealed Tuesday night in photos posted on Truth Social that he trolled Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) during Monday’s budget showdown in the Oval Office by setting a pair of red Trump 2028 hats facing them on the Resolute Desk. The meeting was held to try to avert a government shutdown Tuesday night by funding the government with a short term seven-week clean continuing resolution passed by House Republicans. Schumer and Jeffries refused to budge on their demands for over $1.5 trillion of new spending to keep the government open.
