A federal judge will sentence Nicholas “Sophie” Roske of Simi Valley, California, on Friday for his attempted murder of Supreme Court Justice Bret Kavanaugh as SCOTUS deliberated on the Dobbs case, which overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. The government is seeking a 30-year prison sentence with lifetime supervised release for the accused. Meanwhile, defense attorneys are seeking 96 months or 8 years in prison with 25 years of supervised release. Roske pled guilty in April of this year. His sentencing hearing is on the docket for 10 am at the United States District Court of Maryland in Greenbelt, Maryland.
