A man convicted of felony assault with a deadly weapon after pulling a knife on a state trooper protecting Trump’s motorcade during his visit to North Carolina last year to survey Hurricane Helene damage will not serve prison time. Last October, 55-year-old Leif Johnson was seen screaming at an elderly, wheelchair bound veteran during then-candidate Trump’s visit to western North Carolina.
