There are growing calls for North Carolina Democrat State Rep. Cecil Brockman to resign after he was arrested and charged with multiple child sex crimes. According to court documents, Cecil Brockman was arrested and charged with statutory rape of a 13-15 year old. Brockman reportedly used his status as a legislator to gain information about the victim’s location while they were at a hospital. “The allegations against Rep. Brockman are serious and, if true, would disqualify him from public office,” the North Carolina State House Democrat Leader Robert Reives said. Brockman is being held without bond and will appear in court on Thursday afternoon.
