On January 5, 2021, a suspect allegedly planted pipe bombs near the RNC and DNC headquarters in Washington, DC, the night before the January 6, 2021, protests. After the feds found the bombs on January 6– supposedly the day after they were planted–the US Capitol was shut down along with the counting of electoral votes by the US Congress.
