President Trump on Saturday said he would still send the National Guard to New York to deter criminals if necessary, as New York City’s Democratic Socialist Mayor-Elect, Zohran Mamdani, gears up to be sworn in as Mayor on January 1, 2026.  This comes after the President’s meeting with Zohran Mamdani, following which the two emerged and appeared to agree to work together for the benefit of New York. Trump, surprisingly, even told reporters that he expects to work with Mamdani on crime and illegal immigration. “We’re going to work together.
