Police are now investigating a possible link between the Brown University shooting in Rhode Island and the murder of an MIT professor approximately 50 miles away in Brookline, Massachusetts. An MIT professor was fatally shot in his Brookline home on Monday night. 47-year-old Nuno Loureiro, a nuclear science and engineering professor, was shot multiple times, according to police. Loureiro was transported to a Boston hospital and died Tuesday morning. A neighbor told CBS News that they heard three loud bangs on Monday night. A suspect was not immediately taken into custody.
