When MSNBC was forced to break away from MSNBC and rebrand as MSNOW, many people suggested that it would have a negative effect on their ratings, which already weren’t great. The problem for MSNOW, other than their insane hosts and completely unhinged commentary, is that without the backing of MSNBC they lost their aura of legitimacy. It looks like they got cut loose – which they kind of did. It’s almost like they were too crazy for NBC News. And of course, FOX News is still kicking their butts in the numbers.
