President Donald Trump ordered a large-scale military strike in Venezuela early Saturday that resulted in the capture and removal of socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. According to the administration, elite U.S. forces executed a nighttime raid in Caracas, seizing Maduro and flying him out of the country to face criminal charges. The Venezuelan government labeled the actions a “grave military aggression” and sought an emergency UN Security Council meeting.
