A Democratic Socialist candidate running for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District has a long record of unhinged social media posts, including declaring that public toilets are a form of socialism and insisting that Jesus Christ was “likely a Democratic Socialist.” Analilia Mejia is a former staffer for Sen. Bernie Sanders and has since been endorsed by him, as well as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Sen. Cory Booker, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
