Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s security officer was fatally shot by Dallas SWAT officers this week. The security officer, Mike King, was a fugitive after impersonating a law enforcement officer. King was killed in his garage during a standoff with Dallas SWAT officers on Wednesday night. According to CBS News, he drove a “replica undercover police vehicle” with license plates “stolen from cars outside a military recruiting office.” King reportedly has an extensive criminal history. It is unclear how King was able to serve as Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security detail despite his criminal background.
