The Senate on Sunday voted to advance Markwayne Mullin’s DHS nomination. Mullin’s nomination for DHS Secretary cleared the Senate Homeland Security Committee last week in an 8-7 vote. Fetterman voted with the Republicans and GOP Senator Rand Paul opposed Mullin. President Trump earlier this month fired Kristi Noem as DHS Chief and immediately announced that Senator Markwayne Mullin (OK) will become the next Secretary of Homeland Security effective March 31. Markwayne Mullin will have to be confirmed by the Senate and on Sunday he passed a key hurdle. The Senate on Sunday voted 54-37 to advance Mullin’s nomination.
