Demma Jo (McFadden) McAfee, 91 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-263-7577. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow with a private family inurnment at the Big Creek Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church or American Legion Auxiliary Douthit Specker Unit 286 (Veterans Fund). Demma Jo was born on June 28, 1934, at home in Odessa, MO to Roscoe and Willie Jewell (Alumbaugh) McFadden. She attended Bosworth High school in Bosworth, MO. On October 1, 1952, Demma Jo was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Allen McAfee in Bosworth, MO. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2019. Demma Jo worked for Harmon Electronics for many years in Grain Valley, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa, MO, American Legion Auxiliary Douthit Specker Unit 286, Friends of the Library, and Calvary Quilters. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Demma Jo enjoyed quilting, flowers, gardening, watching her hummingbirds, reading and puzzles.
Demma Jo is survived by two children, Kim (Ralph) Amos of Grain Valley, MO and Lori (Dennis) Mitchell of Odessa, MO; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Phyllis Hampton of Excelsior Springs, MO and Joy Beth Warner of Hale, MO; one brother, Norman (Karen) Dale McFadden of Sailsbury, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Demma Jo was preceded in death by, two daughters, Vicki Stubblefield and one in infancy; two sons, Douglas Allen McAfee and one in infancy; a grandson, Joshua Alan Amos; a sister Carol Jane George; and three brothers, Ralph McFadden, Paul McFadden, and one in infancy.
