Judith “Judy” Kay (Buttermore) Nunez, 84 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Judy was born on April 10, 1941, in Muskegon, Michigan to Pershing and Mildred (Lyals) Buttermore. On December 29, 1968, Judy was united in marriage to Crescencio “Chris” Nunez in Miami, Florida. Judy was a hairdresser for years in the Odessa area. She retired from GE, formerly known as Harmon Electronics. Judy was a member of Life Point Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Judy enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, ceramics, and taking trips to go antiquing.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Chris Nunez of Odessa, MO; four children, Janet (Harvey) Thomas of Odessa, MO, Stephen Arfstrom of Helena, OK, Leischen Nunez of Fairfield, CA, and Christina Nunez of Harrisonville, MO; three grandchildren, Rachel, Cameron, Maile; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Colby, Austin, and Anthony; along with many relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Pershing Buttermore and Mildred Harrison; and a great grandchild, Kainan Lewis.
