Randall “Randy” Wayne Green, 65, of Norborne, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at CenterPoint Medical Center in Independence.
Randy was born on July 9, 1960, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Marilyn (Grider) Fugitt. He was united in marriage to Deborah “Debbie” Kay Wilson of Rayville on February 12, 1987; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: his mother, Marilyn Fugitt of Richland; two sons, Christopher Green (Patty Lam) of Hardin and Jarrod (Angie) Green of Carrollton; two step-grandsons, Tanner (Paige) Hermanson and Tucker Hermanson; step-great-granddaughter, Blakelyn Hermanson; and three sisters: Pam Hartwig of Ozark, Kim (Bobby Don) Davis of Richmond, and Lori (Jamie) McNail of Richland; other extended family members also survive.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leamon and Luella Grider, and sister, Kristy McCoy.
Randy was raised and educated in Norborne. Following his schooling, he attended Lincoln Tech in Des Moines, Iowa, where he earned his certification in Mechanics. He devoted his life to his chosen trade, working as a mechanic throughout his career. Locally, he was employed at Westfall GMC in North Kansas City, Westfall O’Dell in Excelsior Springs, and Hank Peck’s GM in Richmond, specializing as a GM mechanic. For the past 30 years, Randy dedicated his service to the United States Postal Service in Kansas City, where he began as a mechanic and steadily worked his way up to parts manager and ultimately manager of the Vehicle Maintenance Facility.
In his younger years, Randy was an active member of the Norborne Fire Department. Away from work, he was an avid NASCAR fan, especially during the racing careers of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed deer hunting and found great joy in the companionship of his beloved dogs, Willis, his Black Lab, and Darla, his Bassett Hound, who were truly like family to him. Randy will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Fairhaven Cemetery or Norborne Fire Department. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne.
