Mildred Arlene Abeln, 85, of Salisbury, MO, died Wednesday, October 1, 2025 in Salisbury. Mildred was born March 1, 1940 in Huntsville, MO the daughter of Columbus Milton and Lorene Elizabeth (Pogue) Rader. She married Bernard Abeln on January 29, 1966 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her death on August 15, 1998.
Mildred graduated from Salisbury High School, class of 1957. She worked at Salisbury High school as a cook for 20 years and for Chariton Park for 14 years. Mildred was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality.
Mildred is survived by a son David (Bethany) Abeln, grandchildren Kierston (Joey) Chalupny, Derek Abeln, great grandson Cooper Chalupny, sister-in-law Ruth Abeln, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Edward Rader, sister Wanda Taylor.
Rosary will be said at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, visitation will follow with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
