Tena Marie Tharp, age 70, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at her residence.
Tena was born the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Lewin) Filley, on October 2, 1955, in Cameron, Missouri. She was a 1974 graduate of Cameron High School. On December 8, 1980, she married William “Bill” Tharp in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2009.
Tena worked as a lab technician with Delaval Manufacturing. She enjoyed going to the movies with friends, sewing, and gardening. She loved to read a good book and spend time helping take care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Burton and husband Matt, of Kansas City, Missouri and Kelly Palmer and husband, Zachary of Royse City, Texas; four grandchildren, Sylvia Burton, Joslyn Burton, Avi Palmer and Jonah Palmer; one brother, Marvin Filley and wife, Mary, of Gladstone, Missouri; one sister, Doris Darst and husband, John, of Independence, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; three brothers, Leroy Filley, Robert Filley and Ralph Filley; and three sisters, Carolyn Henderson, Dinah Bolinger and Dixie Stevenson.
Graveside Services will be held at the Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forrest O.
