Vera Lucille “Lucy” Huesgen, 83, of Rolla, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at her home.

Family and friends will gather from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home with William W. Harlow officiating. A short service will begin at 1:00 p.m. and then conclude with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Born December 21, 1941, in Urbana, MO, she was the daughter of the late George D. Simmons Sr. and Sylvia Pummill Simmons. She married Donald “Cotton” Riley in 1956, and he preceded her in death. She later married John Huesgen. Lucy had lived in the Marshall area for many years where she was employed as an LPN at Marshall Habilitation Center. She has lived in the Rolla area with her sister, Carol, for the last several years. Lucy was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children: Cheryl Johns of Georgia, Donald “Spike” Riley Jr. of Marshall, Irvin Riley of Licking and Kerry Bradley of Windsor; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Simmons of Marshall; one sister, Carol Johns of Rolla; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Langan; and eight siblings: Nancy Miller, George Simmons Jr., Henry Simmons, Eugene Simmons, Delano “Doc” Simmons, Ruth Bell Huff, Mary Simmons and Sylvia Simmons (in infancy).
