James “Jim” M. Jackson, age 76, of New Boston passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025, at Life Care Center in Brookfield, MO.

Jim was born on June 21, 1949, in Brookfield, MO; the son of Junior and Nadine (Burns) Jackson. He was a 1967 graduate of Bucklin High School. Jim married Karen Smith on September 25, 1981, in Kansas City, MO.

Jim was a farmer, raising crops and cattle. He loved being outdoors. Jim was an avid hunter, hunting anything that could fly or walk. He enjoyed riding around visiting with neighbors and friends. Jim never met a stranger and didn’t like to miss a chance to spend time with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife Karen Jackson of the home; four children, Cybil (Ben) Jackson of Brookfield, MO; Kristi Hoggatt of Kansas City, MO; Dustin (Sara) Levell of Oak Grove, MO; and Matt (Becky) Jackson of New Boston, MO; and eight grandchildren, Marley Jackson, Cooper Holland, Kennedi Erhard, Emersym Hoggatt, Ali Fry, Gage Levell, Charlotte Jackson, and Fallon Jackson; four great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Stephanie) Jackson; one sister, Linda (Larry) Howard; and several other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Nadine Jackson, one son, Michael Jackson, and one brother, Darrell Eugene Jackson.

A Celebration of Jim Jackson’s Life will be held at 11:00 am. Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO. with Reverend John Wiggans officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
