Vivian Lorraine Bales, 71, of Salisbury, MO, died at her home Monday, January 12, 2026. Vivian was born January 21, 1954 in Salisbury, MO the daughter of Carl Richard and Evangeline Bertha (Nellesen) Striegel.
Vivian was a graduate of Salisbury High School, class of 1972. She received an associate degree in Botany from MACC. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her passion was quilting and shopping for quilting supplies. She was able to the complete the Quilt trail in Missouri. She also enjoyed diamond art and coloring.
Vivian is survived by her husband Marion of 51 years, children Russell Bales (Michelle Pearson) of Pacific, MO, Sheila Moore of Boonville, MO, Michael (Paula) Bales of Salisbury, MO, Ronald (Taléna) Bales of Pocatello, ID, Cynthia (Steve) Griffin of Fayette, MO, Rebecca (Brian) Morrison of Bridgeport, TX, sisters Martha Clements of Carrollton, MO, Roberta (Marlyn) Hardwick of Brunswick, MO, Joan (Don) Clark of Boonville, MO, Antoinette “Teddy” Clark of Carrollton, grandchildren Alyssa, Kyle, Kia, Joshua, Anthony, James, Elizabeth, Crystal, Gwyneth, Mathias, Maximus, Thius, Elijah, Sadie, John, great grandchildren Elanore, Windham, Kevin, Lincoln, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother’s infant James Striegel, Carl “Bud” Striegel, sisters Alice Walser, Frances Kitchen, grandchildren Evangeline and Gavin.
Rosary will be said at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury. Visitation will follow from 9-11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral services entrusted to Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, MO.
