Robert “Robbie” Allen Hemme, 55, of Concordia, MO, died Monday, February 2, 2026, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia with Rev. Michael Banes officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette County Cancer Coalition, KU Research and Development Medical Oncology or family choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Robbie was born on November 10, 1970, in Lexington, MO, to Kenneth Hemme and Doris Ann (Barker) Hemme. He was a 1989 graduate of Concordia High School, and on June 14, 1991, he married Karen Yvonne Ellis at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia. Robbie was a valued employee of the City of Lee’s Summit for 27 years retiring in October of 2025. Robbie was Scout Master for Troop 258 in Concordia, a Concordia school board member for many years, and a Concordia City Alderman. His love of the outdoors was his serenity. Fishing, gardening, raising produce for family and always giving to others were very special to Robbie. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone. Robbie’s joy was his family and friends.
Robbie is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; three children: Michael Hemme (Elizabeth) of Lawrence, KS, David Hemme (Liz) of Lubbock, TX, and Jessica Hemme (Rob) of Warrensburg, MO; his mother, Doris Ann Hemme of Concordia; four grandsons; four sisters: Sandra Hemme of Higginsville, MO; Marilyn Winter (Darren) of Alma, MO; Joyce Kays (Mark) Higginsville, MO, and Melissa Olewnik (Jason) of Prince Frederick, MD; his best friend, Bandit “Turkey” and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robbie was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Hemme, on July 29, 2024.
