Memorials are suggested to Saline Animal League and Community Food Pantry, and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com Born August 19, 1936, in Rushville, NE, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” Edward Dexter and Fern Alta Trennepohl Dexter. Earlene’s family moved to Illinois and in 1954 she graduated from Decatur High School in Decatur, IL. On November 27, 1955, she married Charles M. “Charlie” Tryban who preceded her in death three years to the day on February 3, 2023. Charlie’s job brought the family to Marshall in 1957, moving from Illinois, and they became active members of the community where they raised their family. Earlene built a solid foundation for her family as a wife, mother, and homemaker until their youngest child started school. One of Earlene’s strongest commitments was being a staunch supporter of her husband and his career. Once the children were all in school, she decided that she would go back to work. She worked at Odell Avenue Clinic for several years and then worked at the prosecutor’s office for Rick Wilson until her retirement. One of the great joys that Earlene and Charlie shared after their children started their families was being grandparents. The same devotion that they gave to their children growing up only grew stronger for the generations that followed. Earlene was a member of First United Methodist Church, The Coterie Club, as well as numerous bridge clubs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her trips to the casino. Survivors include three children, Stephanie K. Davis (Steve) of Springfield, Charles D. Tryban (Amy) of Leawood, KS; and Patrick J. Tryban (Brandie) of Overland Park, KS; 14 grandchildren: Shane Davis (Brooke), Caleb Davis, Drew Townlian (Jordan), Austin Davis (Caity), Henry, Maddy, Martha, Sam, Ben, Patrick, Caroline, Harry, Frankie and Olivia Tryban; four greatgrandchildren: Sydney, Kinslee and Cole Davis, and Saxon Townlian; one sister, Joyce Cline of California; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family. In addition to her parents and husband, Earlene was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda S. Tryban; one sister, Donna Martin; and one brother, Leroy Dexter.
