Betty Jean Forbes, 75, passed away Friday afternoon, February 20, 2026, at her home in Brookfield, MO.
Betty was born on March 21, 1950, to Julius Junior and Lorene (Pamperl) Anderson in Brookfield, MO. Betty was a 1969 graduate of Bucklin High School. On November 29, 1969, she married Jack Forbes in New Boston, MO. He survives of the home.
Betty was a member of Park Baptist Church in Brookfield, MO, where she helped in the nursery and taught children’s Sunday school classes for many years. Her family was a central part of her life, and Betty took pride in making her house a home. Betty found joy in life’s simple pleasures, from reading a good book to attending her kids and grandkids activities and sporting events. She loved and adored her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. Betty treasured every moment with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jack Forbes; her two children, Lindsey Ecklund and husband Tom, and Travis Forbes and wife Diane; her four grandchildren, Daton Ecklund and fiancée Kaitlin, Owen Ecklund, Clara Forbes, and Lula Forbes; her brother, Ronnie Anderson; and her sister, Judy Sweet; and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Lorene Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Park Baptist Fellowship Hall in Brookfield, MO, with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Brookfield, MO.
Visitation will be held at the Park Baptist Fellowship Hall in Brookfield, MO, on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with family receiving friends at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
