Peggy Sue Strickler, 62, of Excelsior Springs, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 26, 2026, at her home.
Peggy was born on August 1, 1963, in Cameron, the daughter of Rex Lloyd and Linda (Stewart) Allen.
Survivors include: her mother, Linda Allen of Elmira; her significant other, Mark Minnick of the home; son, Justin Andersen of Richmond; two daughters, Kelsey Strickler of Wood Heights and Lacey Strickler of Braymer; three grandchildren: Angel, Ezra, and Elijah Strickler; brother, Randy Allen of Elmira; and two sisters, Cindy Bartholomew of Excelsior Springs and Wanda Allen of Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Allen.
Peggy was raised and went to school in Lawson, graduating from Lawson High School in 1980. She spent her working years as a drug treatment counselor, helping folks through some of the hardest times in their lives with care and understanding.
In her free time, Peggy enjoyed the things that made her happy. She loved being out on the water fishing and was proud of catching a record-breaking 3-pound crappie. She also had a love for horses and the quiet moments they brought.
More than anything, Peggy loved her family and cherished the time she got to spend with them. She was a good, loyal friend-someone you could count on no matter what-and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Peggy Strickler Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Cremation with services to be announced at a later date. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of arrangements. Please remember to share your memories of Peggy with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
