Vice President JD Vance remains the frontrunner in the race for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination, according to a newly released poll. The survey, conducted by J.L. Partners in May, shows that 46% of registered Republican voters are prepared to support Vance as the heir apparent to Donald Trump — putting him well ahead of any other potential contenders. No other figure cracked double digits in the poll. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who ran unsuccessfully in 2024, garnered just 8 percent support in a potential second attempt.
