President Trump demanded $230 million in compensation from the Justice Department for the federal investigations into him. Any settlement must be approved by senior DOJ officials, according to The New York Times, President Trump submitted his first complaint in 2023 and claimed his rights were violated during the special counsel investigation into whether Russia election meddling. Trump’s second complaint, filed in summer 2024, is seeking damages over Biden’s FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago residence. Trump accused the DOJ of malicious prosecution.
