Psalm 17:15 “As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.”

Have you ever turned toward an extremely bright light? Or perhaps you’ve glanced at the sun, and your eyes were bathed in its radiance. Look away, and how do other objects appear? Have they not grown dim, if not dark and invisible? All are changed. Likewise, the treasures of this world look different after a person has caught a glimpse of heaven—nothing else satisfies.

When writing to Corinthian believers, the apostle Paul wrote, “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’” (1 Corinthians 2:9). The promise contained here is that one day we will know and share in untold blessings beyond our imagination. When was the last time you let thoughts of heaven, your future abode, consume your vision?

No man or woman knows the day of their departure from this earth, or when the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout and draw us upward. But the reality is that we could be changing addresses sooner than we think. It is that new address that excites me the most. Let us live in the moment-by-moment expectancy of seeing our Lord face to face, when His image will be stamped upon our glorified soul. And on that day, when we stand before God, in the brilliance of His glory, we will say, “I am satisfied!”
