Justus Benjamin Quick, 21, of Independence, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Justus was born on Monday, August 16, 2004, in Warrensburg, Missouri, to Darin and Christina (Goodin) Quick. As part of a military family, he experienced life living on several different military bases across the US before the family settled in Odessa, Missouri, in 2016.
Justus was actively involved in FFA, wrestling, band, and other school activities. He had a deep love for music, anime, and Pokémon. He enjoyed spending time building with Legos and playing Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering. A dedicated gamer, he also had a creative and artistic side that showed in the many things he made and enjoyed.
Justus was a sweet and kind soul who loved his family deeply and lived life as his true, authentic self. He found joy in the little things, like dressing up as Spider-Man to make his cousin’s birthday so very special for him. He was taken far too soon and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Darin and Tina Quick of Odessa; one brother, Tyan Quick; one sister, Lana Quick; and his paternal grandparents, Donn and Dena Quick of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph Miller and Elke Goodin.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Community of Christ Church in Odessa, Missouri. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the church. Memorials may be made to Christina Quick to help with expenses and mailed to Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home 1600 Main St. Higginsville, MO 64037.
