Since its premiere in the 1970s, Saturday Night Live has always leaned liberal. The very earliest episodes featured Chevy Chase trying to make Republican President Gerald Ford look like an idiot. In recent years however, it has reached levels of political bias that are more absurd than the skits on the show. In 2016, they basically did a funeral for Hillary Clinton’s campaign after she lost, and when Obama left office in 2017, cast members actually sang songs of praise to him. They ignored Biden’s cognitive decline until Democrats and the media decided that they needed to force him out of the race, and they make fun of Trump and Republicans constantly.
