Renee Lucille Quillen, 72, of Richmond, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her home.
Renee was born on October 22, 1954, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Howard and Ethel Lucille (Bessey) Grieb. She was united in marriage to Wesley Quillen of Independence in October of 1972; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Dana Quillen of Kansas City and Kasey Quillen of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Doug (Anne) Grieb of Jacksonville, FL; and sister, Kathy Carrico of Bellevue, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, David Quillen.
Renee was a giving woman with a big heart and a deep love for her family. Born with that steady Nebraska spirit, she spent her life putting others before herself and making sure the people she loved were cared for. She was known for being strong-willed and certain in her opinions-and her family would say, with a smile, that Renee was always right… even when she wasn’t. More than anything, she loved her family and treasured the time spent together. Her love, loyalty, and presence will be missed beyond measure.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. In accordance with Renee’s family’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Please remember to share your memories of Renee with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
