Spencer Bradley Wood, 39, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a hard-fought battle with melanoma.
Spencer was born on December 5, 1986, in Fort Stewart, Georgia, to Darren and Kathryn (Dunn) Wood and was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He grew up in Concordia, Missouri, where he built many lifelong friendships and graduated from Concordia High School with the Class of 2005. On June 4, 2026, he married Natalie Marie Tucker and proudly embraced her son, Colt James Tucker, as part of his family.
Of all the roles Spencer held throughout his life, his favorite was being a dad. His children, Jaxon Bradley, Alexis LeighAnn, and Payson Conner, were the center of his world. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his kids, making memories, making them laugh, and simply being their dad. He also loved Colt and cherished the time they spent together as a family.
Spencer spent many years working alongside family at his grandparents’ restaurant, Biffle’s Smokehouse, and worked several jobs throughout his life before becoming a proud member of the IBEW, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those who worked beside him.
If you knew Spencer, you knew he loved being around people. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. In fact, if you knew Spencer, you knew he loved to talk. Whether he was telling stories, joking around, giving someone a hard time, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, he always found a way to keep the conversation going.
He loved weekends at the lake, hunting with his dad and kids, playing washers, cornhole, beer pong, Monopoly Go, and spending time with the people he cared about most. He enjoyed a cold beer or two-or twenty, depending on who was telling the story He was always up for an adventure, a good time, or a little bit of harmless trouble, especially when his brother-in-law was involved. He had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and a sense of humor that could make people laugh even when they probably shouldn’t. More than anything, Spencer loved making memories with the people he loved.
Spencer faced life’s challenges the same way he faced everything else-with stubborn determination, sarcasm, and a joke ready at just the right moment. Even during his battle with cancer, he continued finding ways to make others smile, especially with his dark humor. His
strength inspired many, but it was the way he cared for the people in his life that left the greatest impact.
To know Spencer was to know loyalty. He showed up for the people he loved, whether they needed help, advice, a laugh, or simply someone to sit beside them. He loved fiercely, protected those he cared about, and made people feel like family. The world feels quieter without his voice, his laugh, and his endless stories, but the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Natalie; his children, Jaxon Bradley, Alexis LeighAnn, Payson Conner, and Colt James Tucker; his parents, Darren and Kathryn Wood of Concordia; his sisters, Cassandra Wood, Samantha (Jake) Jones, and Megan Wood; his grandmothers, Lola Biffle and Willa Wood; three nieces; five nephews; and countless extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herbert Wood Jr.; his grandfather, Kenneth Biffle; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Norma Dunn; his aunt, Liesha (Wood) Gleason; and his beloved niece, Lainey Karolyne McGee.
Spencer leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, and love. While our hearts are broken by his loss, we are grateful for every moment we shared with him. His legacy lives on through his children, the family he loved fiercely, the friends he treasured, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Spencer’s legacy is more than the memories he leaves behind-it’s the way he lived. Be strong when life gets tough. Love deeply. Work hard. Never quit. Find a reason to smile even on the hardest days Love your family and friends fiercely, make memories whenever you can, and never take a single day for granted.

A celebration of Spencer’s life will begin with a memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia, and the service at 12:00 p.m. Instead of sending flowers, it would be appreciated if you’d help continue Spencer’s desire that his children be provided for, by making a memorial to their trust fund.
