Despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that began on October 13, Hamas carried out a deadly assault in Rafah, southern Gaza, launching an anti-tank missile and sniper fire at IDF troops. The unprovoked attack killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others, shattering the fragile truce and forcing Israel to act in defense of its people. The Israel Defense Forces responded with strength and precision, conducting over 120 targeted airstrikes on Hamas infrastructure and military positions across the Gaza Strip.
