Eileen Wang The Mayor of Arcadia, California, Eileen Wang, has resigned from office following charges that she acted as a foreign agent on behalf of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), for which she has agreed to plead guilty. She will reportedly spend up to ten years in prison after executing directives from Chinese officials to post Chinese propaganda on a website called US News Center. Wang “received and executed directives from PRC government officials to post pro-PRC content on the website, and sometimes sought approval from PRC government officials to circulate other pro-PRC content” between 2020 and 2022, according to court filings.
