Abelardo Sanchez/Images via ICE U.S. Immigration and Customs (ICE) announced that, following an intensive investigation by ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents, a Mexican national living abroad is being extradited to the U.S. to face horrific charges. Abelardo Sanchez, a 39-year-old citizen of Mexico who had been living in Dublin, Ireland before fleeing to Austria, was extradited to face justice for allegedly producing child sexual abuse material. Sanchez made his first appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Juan F. Alanis on June 8 in McAllen. Special agents discovered an online account that contained child sexual abuse material during an investigation, with some of the material appearing to have been produced by Sanchez dating back to 2014.
