Patrick Dale Bear, 74 of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at Lexington United Methodist Church, 1211 S. Bus 13 Hwy., Lexington, MO, 64067. Visitation will follow from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at the church. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at the church. Rite of Committal will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to Minutemen Athletic Booster Club. Pat was born on May 19, 1951, in Lexington, MO to Albert Edwin Bear, Jr. and Billie Jean (Trent) Bear. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1969 and received his certification from Tri County Technical School, Eldon, MO in 1972. On August 21, 1971, Pat was united in marriage to Cathy Jean Lichte in Lexington at Trinity United Church of Christ Church. Pat worked for several years as a heavy equipment operator for Auffenkamp’s in Higginsville, MO before becoming a mechanic for John Deere in Higginsville. He is a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lexington as well as the Turner Society. Pat was a Minutemen fan, he assisted with stats and the time clock in the announcer’s box during Minutemen games, starting when games were played at the Wentworth Military Academy Stadium. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Pat enjoyed fishing, boating, and Chiefs Football.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cathy Bear of Lexington, MO; two daughters, Jenifer Ashley of Lexington, MO and Mandy (Brian) Maddox of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Lee (Abra) Ashley, III of Lexington, MO, Megan Maddox of Fredericksburg, VA and Carlee Maddox of Fredericksburg, VA; two great-grandchildren, Eden Ashley and Sage Ashley; a sister, Ramona (Rocky) Johnson of Higginsville, MO and a brother, Terry (Jacque) Bear of Lexington, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents.
