Carol Katherine (Semler) Morehead, 87, of Higginsville, Missouri formerly of Lexington passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Family will have a private burial at Machpelah Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in Lexington. Carol was born on September 26, 1937, to Virgil and Katherine Myrtle (Goodloe) Semler in Lexington, Missouri. In 1955, she graduated from Lexington High School. Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington. Carol was an owner and operator of H&R Block in Lexington. On January 14, 2006, Carol was united in marriage to Virgil K. Morehead in Lexington, Missouri. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Golden Ages. Along with spending time with family and friends, Carol was often found square dancing, a pastime that reflected her vibrant personality and zest for life. She also dedicated time to charitable walks, demonstrating her compassion and desire to give back to her community.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Virgil K. Morehead; three children, Brenda (David) Cox of Warrensburg, MO, Shelli (Alan) Weitkamp of Lexington, MO, and Derrick (Heidi) Morgan of Higginsville, MO; twelve grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Along with both her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Clint W. Semler
