Nina Ruth Brubeck Michaels 80, a resident of Henrietta, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, surrounded by her loving family.
Nina was born on March 14, 1945, in Tracey, MO to John Woodrow “Woody” and Velma (Ratliff) Brubeck. Nina was united in marriage to James Michaels of Henrietta on July 29, 1961, he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one son, Dwayne (Brenda) Michaels of Oak Grove; one daughter, Donna (Roger) Weber of Camden; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Apryl), Jennifer(Adam), Justin, Jourdin, Robert (Lyndsey) and Kyle (Janelle); fifteen great grandchildren, Keegan, Brayden, Dawson, Kynnlee, Willow, Abree, Oaklee, Everlee, Jayden, Kori, Tekyn, Xade, Kris, Lia, and Bradley; one brother, Gerald Brubeck; one sister, Sandy Robinson; brothers and sister in-law, Joe (Becky) Michaels and Henry Michaels; sisters in-law, Peggy Brubeck and Linda Stanley; special friends, Lonnie, Lizzy, Christian Briant, and Josh Lamar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Jamie, brothers, Jack, Larry, Roland Brubeck, and Roger Stanley, and sister, Marge Rider.
Nina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. Throughout her life, family was always her top priority. She was a devoted farm wife who took pride in working alongside her husband and helping with whatever needed to be done. Nina also worked out of the home for eleven years at Walmart. Nina was a faithful and dedicated member of the Henrietta Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and shared her love of cooking with both her family and her church family. She also enjoyed spending time at the casino. Nina will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
A visitation will be held at Henrietta Baptist Church on Saturday, November 1, 2025, beginning at 1:00 P.M. followed by funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens.
The family request memorial donations in Nina’s honor be sent to Henrietta Baptist Church. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home 507 Main St/P.O. Box 190 Richmond, MO 64085.
